Site is an emerging art space, a gallery and a
residency/studio situated in the Industrial estate in Vadodara, Gujarat, India.
Its campus includes a gallery space, studio, and living quarter for a single
artist, toilets/kitchen, café, library and the parent organization Rachaita
Creative solutions, an art/architectural fabrication facility.

- Application forms all column should be duly filled.
- Images of work (5 images in .jpg or .tiff format. Be certain to include the medium, size, date and title for each work. Alternatively, you may provide a web address where your works can be viewed). All 5 files should less than 1 MB.
Eligibility
We offer residencies to
artists from all disciplines - visual arts, sculpture, architecture, product
design & furniture design. Please note that students (including those
taking full-time and part-time MA and PhD courses) are not eligible to apply
for a studio residency.
The selected candidate
should acquire visa and other related document to visit our country in advance.
We can assist artists seeking grants or other forms
of funding by providing a formal invitation letter when a candidature is
accepted.
Situation, Type, Size and
Accommodation of the Studio
The studio is set in a "factory style"
site, situated in GIDC Makarpura, located 6 km away from the city center. Studio
space for an artist would be a 250 sq. ft floor area in the factory with high
ceiling and good light, metal and welding tools. The studio and living quarter
will be separate.

We recommend necessary vaccinations, preventive
medical procedures and appropriate medical insurance before departing to India.
Expected from artist
Open Studio day in the artist-in-residence
Studio during or by the end of the Artist Residency. Or, After reviewed by the
curator an Exhibition of the artist work in our gallery space free of cost
where in invitation design, printing, opening reception shall be taken care by
the artist. Gallery will help for the promotion of the event. Gallery staff
will guide you for the event.
Artist will have to
share the hi-res images of the work(s) done during the residency with us for
documentation purpose.
Fees structure
The cost for the studio is. 750 USD per one month including (electricity,
water, cleaning/weekly, and ADSL internet (Wireless).The period of residency
can be extended, after the work and schedule of the work be reviewed by
authority. The invoice will include taxes as applicable.

Conditions
As soon as the artist is notified his selection via email by 1st
October 2012, He / She should confirm the invite by paying the residency fees via
account transfer or Western Union. PAYMENT DETAILS along with an invoice would
be sent to the selected candidate via email. The acknowledgment receipt of
payment would be sent via email to confirm your booking.
A booking is considered tentative until payment in full has been made.
This should be completed as soon as possible to secure your booking. Although
we will consult with you, Site residency reserves the right to re-allocate the
booking before payment is made.

Site is a factory-like set up residency in an
industrial area of city of Vadodara,in Gujarat, India. As a noted artist hub
and renowned art school , Vadodara has been on the art map since a while but
art making ancillary like ours remains untapped source. Our
aim is to offer a professional set up to international artist, which would be
an enriching experience to both artist and the organization.
The resident/visiting artists enjoy a dynamic and vibrant
time frame for working; they have a studio and living space at their disposal
to complete their projects. They also network with and within the local art
community, cultural institutions and the public at large.
