History:

“Site” is the extension of Rachaita creative solutions which has been catering to the artistic and architectural fabrication needs since 1999. Having worked with artists and architects we understood the need for a residential studio facility so that they could engage in their creative pursuit continuously without any constraints. Also since many ambitious and cutting edge creative projects fall flat owing to improper technical support, we decided to extend our expertise and share with artists and creative people so that such significant projects become reality.

Location:

Vadodara is known as the Cultural Capital of Gujarat. Probably there are very few places in the country which enjoys such a willing and continuous support for the creative community as Vadodara. From the Pre colonial through the Colonial and the post Colonial times Vadodara has been in the forefront of cultural activities. The Faculty of Fine Arts of the M.S.University of Baroda had been spearheading the avant-garde and modern art movements in India. Due to this, thousands of artists stay and work here from all parts of the country even after their studies. Recently many artists’ studios have opened here to facilitate the creative community. Apart from this we have a few galleries, museums and sites of significant heritage value. Vadodara is also within the archeological map of Gujarat, with historical sites all around the city.

“Site” is located in the industrial hub of Vadodara, G.I.D.C, Makarapura (10 Kms from railway station and 20kms from air port). Since we are amidst the industrial area any support regarding the work, other than which is not possible in our facility can be available within 500 mts of our facility.

We are the only residency in india where such a workshop facility which can handle any medium at any scale is made possible. Having the experience of handling the most challenging projects, we can boast about a team of highly skilled labour and technical excellence. Since we give preference to the research and work closely with the artists and share our expertise which is in accordance with the process at hand we have been able to produce results as nearly as possible or even sometimes better. We offer services from sourcing materials to the final display of artwork. We also have a reference library which would be helpful for artists in need.

Vision:

Site is envisioned as a fluid space where all sought of creative experiments can happen. Apart from residencies and studios we plan to conduct lectures and seminars to bridge the gap between critical theory and practice. With open studios for residency artists and regular shows in our gallery we think that a creative culture based on interaction can be made possible. With curated shows at regular intervals we wish to engage the society with issues and ideas which are current and significant.

On site Facility:

Lathe, Drill, Argon welding, Electric welding(aluminum, stainless steel, mild steel, brass, copper), Cutter machine, Grinder machine, Pipe bending machine, Air compressor, Buffing machine, Flexible grinder.

Accessible facility:

Laser Cutting, Water Jet, Shaping, Milling, Surface grinder, Turning Centre, Zig saw, Table Saw, Planners, band Saw etc…

There are also facilities for engraving, works in glass, Fiber glass, and wood work etc..

We are at the center of the industrial estate, so most of the facilities and process needed is available within 500 mts of our facility.
